Equifax Identity Services supports eVerify Self Check
Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday, March 21, 2011, announced the launch of eVerify Self Check—an innovative service that allows individuals in the United States to check their own employment eligibility status before formally seeking employment. To protect the security of the system, each user must confirm their identity by answering demographic and/or financial questions generated by Equifax eIDverifier® before they are able to check their employment eligibilty status.
E-Verify Self Check has first been rolled out for users who have an address and live in Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, Mississippi, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The DHS plans to expand the use of the system across the country in phases.
