CA & VT Send ACA Subsidy Notifications, Federal Next?
Recently, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) State-Based Healthcare Marketplaces in California, Covered California, and Vermont, Vermont Health Connect, sent ACA subsidy notifications for 2017 open enrollment to employers, joining the marketplaces of Connecticut, Minnesota and Washington who have also sent notifications. Equifax obtained copies of these newly-sent ACA subsidy notifications, which you may view here (California) and here (Vermont).
This gives benefits and compliance professionals cause to believe that subsidy notices from the Federal Exchange will be sent. Bottom line: now is the time to make sure your team is prepared when State or Federal subsidy notifications arrive. Your organization will need to process – and potentially appeal – these subsidy notifications to avoid unnecessary fines, as well as educate employees whose subsidies you may choose to appeal.
