CAEZ Program Update – New Legislation
Great news! The California Legislature is working on new legislation to assist in the transition of the California Enterprise Zone (CAEZ) Program. The Senate Budget & Fiscal Review Committee amended SB 100 to include information regarding the CAEZ sales or use tax credit. Currently, qualified equipment must be placed in service by the end of 2013. If passed, SB 100 would allow for equipment to be purchased before January 1, 2014 and placed in service before January 1, 2015.
We are hopeful that SB 100 is just the beginning of what we can expect to see in the next 2 weeks as new legislation provides detailed information for the unanswered questions surrounding AB 93 and SB 90.
EWS will continue to update you on any updates or changes surrounding the CAEZ program.
