California Enterprise Zone Updates
The California Enterprise Zone Regulations Reform focus has not hindered two localities from moving forward with zone expansions or creations.
AB 146 – California Enterprise Zone Designation for Oxnard and Port Hueneme California Assemblyman Jeff Gorell has introduced bill AB 146 which will create a new California Enterprise Zone (CAEZ) designation in Oxnard and Port Hueneme. While the current bill does not include the exact boundaries, the proposed legislation will most likely cover the areas of Port Hueneme and large sections of central, southern and northeastern Oxnard.
To promote this proposed legislation, on Tuesday, January 22, Oxnard California Mayor Tim Flynn and other local elected officials stood alongside Assemblyman Gorell, as he discussed AB 146. While local officials are excited about the possibility of creating the newest California Enterprise zone, the passing of the bill will not be an easy task with the current political focus on CAEZ regulatory reform.
Expanded Sequoia Enterprise Zone in Tulare County
The State of California approved the proposal to expand the Sequoia Enterprise Zone in Tulare County. The expansion will add acreage in several parts of the county. Equifax will monitor the new zone boundaries for this newly expanded zone.
