City of Philadelphia Credit for Employment of Returning Veterans of the Armed Forces
Businesses located in Philadelphia who hire qualified
veteran employees, may receive a tax credit against the City of Philadelphia’s total
business income and receipts tax liability. Veterans hired between July 1, 2012,
and June 30, 2014, employed for at least six months, and receive compensation of at
least 150% of the federal minimum wage may be eligible. In addition, the veteran
must have met the qualifications under the Vow to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 as part
of the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC).
The Philadelphia veteran credit is a great opportunity
to capture additional credits on full-time and part-time qualified individuals.
EWS can assist your business to identify individuals who have been WOTC certified
in the veteran target group. If your business is interested in receiving more
information on this exciting credit, please contact your Credit Relationship Manager
(CRM) or Pete Krieshok at 314-214-7325 or by email at Pete.Krieshok@equifax.com.
