Credentialing Solutions for Federal Agencies
In basic terms, this means that solutions from firms like Equifax …. can be trusted identity providers for certain types of Federal applications.
In a White House blog posting yesterday, Howard A. Schmidt, the Cybersecurity Coordinator and Special Assistant to the President, named Equifax as one of a handful of companies who have had their credentialing solutions certified to meet Federal security and privacy requirements.
Equifax provides various identity solutions to help meet the challenges facing growth of online transactions. For Level 1 government portals, which are required to accept certified credentials, as listed in the OMB Memorandum, Equifax provides solutions at Level 1. At higher levels of assurance, Equifax cloud-based identity proofing and authentication solutions meet the requirements laid out in OMB Memorandum 04-04 and NIST SP 800-63. Equifax is working with Kantara on certification under the Kantara Trust Framework, accepted for Levels 1, 2 and non-PKI 3.
