Bulletin: Labor & Employment Compliance – Section 503 Self-Identification Form
The latest Equifax Labor & Employment Compliance Bulletin, Reminder: New Federal Contractor Affirmative Action Regulations Require Employee Survey, outlines some of the Office of Federal Compliance Contract Programs (OFCCP) final regulations that are now in effect. As part of the data collection that is required employers must provide employee’s the opportunity to self-identify.
- Employers must distribute the Veteran’s Survey (VEVRAA) and the Section 503 Self-Identification form, both pre and post hire.
- In addition, the Section 503 Self-Identification form must also be distributed once every 5 years to all employees.
- Electronic distribution of the surveys is allowed so long as the forms are designed to meet the specific requirements of electronic distribution set forth by OFCCP.
- Additionally, it is recommended that employers provide additional reasonable accommodation request processing information along with Section 503.
These new regulations require that employers take immediate action to ensure they remain in compliance.
