Florida Recent Unemployment Legislation
Florida HB 7027 was finally signed into law by Governor Scott yesterday. This
legislation scales back the increase in the taxable wage base from $8,500 to $8,000
for 2012-2014. It also changes the calculation of the rate factors, which will
decrease both the multiplier and minimum rate for 2012. The multiplier will
decrease from 1.1382 to 0.9074 and the minimum rate will decrease from 2.02% to 1.51%.
Revised tax rate notices will be issued next week.
