FLSA, Overtime, and Minimum Wage, Oh My!
Webinar: FLSA, Overtime, and Minimum Wage, Oh My!
This webinar took place Wednesday, September 16th | 2:00 PM EDT
Through a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, the Department of Labor recently announced its intention to dramatically shrink the pool of employees who qualify for exempt status under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This change, coupled with the increase of wage and hour litigation nationally and changes at the state level, means that employers need to remain “on top of their game” with regard to wage and hour compliance. As a result of the significant regulatory changes and increase in litigation, what can employers expect moving forward?
During this educational webinar, Chad Richter, Attorney and Shareholder at Jackson Lewis P.C., will draw upon years of experience representing organizations in wage and hour litigation to share the new challenges that organizations face with the proposed changes and how to avoid common employer mistakes. Kristin Lewis and Julia Bailey of the Equifax Workforce Solutions compliance team will also share new insights around the impact these changes could have on your employees and your bottom line. During the webinar, the team will:
- Explain the proposed changes and what they mean to employers
- Review real-world examples that can influence the decisions you make
- Share best practices to help you prepare for ongoing compliance in the future
- Discuss the unintended consequences of wage and hour mistakes, including increased turnover and employment litigation
