Kentucky Authorizes Federal Loan Interest Payment
Kentucky’s governor has authorized payment of the $28.2 million interest
due on the state’s Title XII federal loan to be made with $9.8 million coming from
the interest and penalty fund and the other $18.4 million via a loan from the state’s
general funds. The governor has tasked the General Assembly with finding a permanent
solution to the interest issue for future payments.
