Maximize benefits, minimize frustrations with online portals
Standard registration processes for online portals still often include waiting for postal delivery of a confirmation code or a downstream face-to-face verification of identity. When you sign up for insurance benefits, you may be able to update your dependent records or check the status of your claim online, but before you can get access to the portal you may need to wait for a PIN to come in the mail.
Requiring that physical documents be mailed to customers simply delays their access to the application without adding significant security. If the mail is lost or intercepted, security isn’t improved and customer satisfaction drops even farther.
