President Obama Unveils the “Returning Heroes and Wounded Warrior Tax Credit”
President Obama is expected to lay out a series of reforms that will better prepare
service members for civilian workforce during a speech today (Friday, August 5, 2011)
at 11:00 AM, at the Washington Navy Yard. During the speech, the President will unveil
the “Returning Heroes and Wounded Warrior Tax Credit” which seems to follow the WOTC
framework. The tax credits would provide the following:
- Maximum credit of $2,400 for every short-term unemployed hire
- $4,800 for every long-term unemployed hire
Maximum credit of $9,600 for firms that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities
who have been unemployed long-term (part of the Wounded Warriors Tax Credit)
- Maximum credit of $4,800 for veterans with a service-connected disability
