Veteran Hiring Incentives Work
According to recently published study by
the RAND corporation — a global policy think tank and research and analysis provider
to the U.S. Government — the addition of the “disabled veteran” qualification, enacted
in 2007, to the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), had a clear and definite positive
effect on overall veteran hiring metrics. Indeed, the RAND study indicated that said
addition to WOTC increased the employment rate among disabled veterans by two percentage
points. According to the study this equated to 32,000 hires per year.
