Webinar: E-Verify and Your Restaurant
Restaurants are at great risk for I9 audits and fines as they are constantly recruiting, hiring, and training new employees. Due to increased enforcement of regulations, it’s now more important than ever for restaurant managers/operators to properly document the work eligibility status of all their employees. Worksite enforcement audits are becoming more common in the restaurant industry due to the nature of the workforce, while continued legislative changes and E-Verify® requirements can challenge even the most sophisticated employer. Managing I9s can be very complex and time consuming.
With many restaurants still using a paper Form I-9 process, with different managers at each location, it is common to find resulting inconsistencies and inefficiencies across the organization. It is important for restaurant owners to understand the employer responsibilities of I-9 processing, as well as how the E-verify program works.
