Recent Webinar: I-9 Compliance – Top Ten Mistakes
Our good friend and well-known I-9 compliance lawyer Amy Peck recently held an audience of over 1,100 captive on the subject of I-9 and E-Verify for an hour-long webinar.
There’s so much for an HR pro to keep track of when it comes to I-9 compliance. In fact, it turns out less than a quarter of attendees seemed to know that when you are re-verifiying an employee in section three of the Form I-9, it is UNLAWFUL to run E-Verify. (About 80% of attendees responded.)
The attendees did better on reviewing documents when handing I-9s remotely, though. Of those who responded 83% knew you can’t review documents via Skype.
But it was clear attendees were thirsting for knowledge on this difficult subject – all but a handful were still with us as we were winding up the Q&A session.
